Buille - on a high of anticipation about Armagh's (since realised) chances of All Ireland victory the next day - polished off Saturday night at the Ardenode with their thrilling, precise, intense & always catchy layering of traditional music (most of which were composed by one Vallely or another, it seemed) with bluesy, jazzy and even pop-like licks.
Music Under the Mountains is a festival of traditional music and song of the highest calibre established in 1991 as a showcase for the best in traditional performers in Ireland and abroad. The festival seeks to support The Laura Greaves Music Bursary for Hollywood National School. The Bursary enables children from Hollywood and surrounding areas to receive traditional music tuition. The fund was established in 1996 in memory of Laura, who was a founding member of Music Under the Mountains. To date, in excess of 200 children have been exposed to the joys and the hard work of learning an instrument or delivering a song.
